The Missouri Dairy Association is broadening its annual statewide meeting into a regional session for milk producers from the Midwest.
The two-day Heart of America Dairy Expo begins Friday at the Ramada Oasis Hotel & Convention Center. Organizers expect 300 participants.
Dairy association president Larry Purdom of Purdy says that Springfield will host the convention for the next two years.
The southwest Missouri city is home to several dairy businesses, including manufacturing plants owned by Kraft Foods Group Inc. and Hiland Dairy Foods Co.
