Horse Slaughter Hits Another Hurdle

(KFEQ)--Horse slaughter at a Missouri plant and another facility in New Mexico have hit another snag in their plans to open.

A new report out today suggest all sides in a lawsuit to allow horse slaughter at a Gallitin Mo. facility have filed to dismissed the lawsuit.  That  would mean the facility would not have the adequate permits to begin horse slaughter in the state.

As for the New Mexico based Valley Meats, they received another ban Friday.  This time, the ban will last 10 days while a judge can hear testimony in a lawsuit seeking to stop the company from operating as a horse slaughter facility.
