American Ethanol Part of the NASCAR Race to Green Campaign

(NAFB)--The NASCAR Race to Green campaign is hosting a National Tree Planting initiative this month. Today (Monday) - on Earth Day - racing teams, tracks, drivers, partners and fans are encouraged to plant at least one tree to help offset carbon emissions produced over the course of the racing season. American Ethanol has pledged to plan one tree for every mile raced in April. Nearly four-thousand miles will be fueled by Sunoco Green E15 by the time the month is over - and the four-thousand trees planted will be enough to offset the carbon emissions of all the miles driven on American-made ethanol in practices and qualifying laps. National Corn Growers Association Corn Board Member Jon Holzfaster says American Ethanol shares the commitment of NASCAR to operate sustainably. He notes farmers manage their farms every day with the tandem goals of making a profit - but doing it in a way that is better for the environment.

NASCAR fans can participate in the Race to Green by visiting www dot NASCAR dot com slash green (www.NASCAR.com/green). For every dollar given - a sapling will be planted. Trees will be planted across the country - particularly in areas recently devastated by natural disasters.
