Mo. Farm Bureau Happy With River Amendments

(KFEQ)--The Missouri Farm Bureau president, Blake Hurst of Northwest Missouri, commends a Missouri Congressman for what he calls common sense river legislation.

Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer authored language to continue defunding the Missouri River Authorized Purposes Study and the Missouri River Ecosystem Restoration Plan Congress defunded both programs for Fiscal Years 2012 and 2013.

Missouri Farm Bureau President Hurst of Atchison County says Luetkemeyer has listened to Missourians who live and work along the Missouri River, and once again taken action to prevent the unnecessary expenditure of taxpayer funds.

"Congressman Luetkemeyer has listened to Missourians who live and work along the Missouri River, and once again taken action to prevent the unnecessary expenditure of taxpayer funds. It makes sense to spend limited federal dollars wisely rather than on expensive experiments. We are grateful to Congressman Luetkemeyer for sponsoring the amendments and others in Missouri’s Congressional Delegation for supporting them.”
