Groups Come Together to Join Fight Against Big Oil
(NAFB)--The oil industry has made repeal of the Renewable Fuel Standard a top priority. VoteVets.org - the 360-thousand-plus supporter veterans group - and Americans United for Change are joining the counteroffensive against Big Oil’s lies about the renewable fuel industry’s job-growing, money-saving, environmentally-friendly record.
The two groups say they will use every tactic at their disposal to harness grassroots energy in support of an RFS rule that puts the interests of the environment, economy, national security and American consumers ahead of the greedy interests of Big Oil. Co-Founder and Chairman Jon Soltz says this is a simple issue for those who served. He says the nation needs to move off of oil. Soltz says ethanol is an important part of reducing our oil consumption - which is good for our troops and security.
Americans United for Change President Brad Woodhouse says the RFS has helped cut America’s dangerous dependence on foreign oil - noting we now get almost 10-percent of our fuel from clean and renewable sources. He says it’s the success of the RFS that has the oil industry waging such an aggressive, self-serving scare campaign against it.
