RFS Proposal Does;t Match Climate Report

(NAFB)--Leaders of the U.S. renewable fuels industry - including Growth Energy and the National Corn Growers Association - have written a letter to President Obama urging the administration to rethink its proposed RFS reductions. The letter says the recently released National Climate Assessment report is a wakeup call about the serious economic, environmental and public health threats to the American people caused by climate change - and reducing the RFS would be a significant step backward in the effort to confront climate change. The groups say the question comes down to whether the U.S. wants to rely more on foreign oil - or more on clean, renewable, domestic biofuels. The groups urge President Obama to reconsider the EPA proposal and methodology for reducing the volumes and allow the RFS to continue working as intended.
