Missouri Western blows 5-0 lead, loses series finale at Lindenwood

riggertMissouriWesternST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Missouri Western baseball team lost at Lindenwood Sunday 6-5 as they lost two of the three games in the series over the weekend.

The Griffons fall to 15-15 and 12-8 in the MIAA. Lindenwood is now 18-14 and 11-9 in league play.

NOTABLES
– Missouri Western took an early one run lead on Ryan Smith’s single to left field that scored Bailey Zimmer

– After adding a run in the fourth inning, MWSU added three more runs on five hits in the fifth inning to take a 5-0 advantage

– Lindenwood added runs in the fifth and sixth innings to cut the lead down to three before scoring three runs in seventh inning to tie the game

– The Lions would get a leadoff double to start the eighth inning and scored the go ahead run on the next play

TOP PERFORMERS
– Levi Schreiner was 2-for-3 at the plate as he drove in two runs and drew a walk

– Andrew Curry went 3-for-4 and scored a run on the day

– Dustin Agnew pitched five innings and allowed two runs on five hits

– Lindenwood’s Connor Law threw two shutout and hitless innings of relief work
