ST. JOSEPH – The Missouri Western baseball team (16-17, 13-10 MIAA) fell to Central Oklahoma (21-13-1, 11-12 MIAA) 4-1 Saturday at the Spring Sports Complex.
NOTABLES
– Missouri Western loaded the bases in the first inning with one out but was unable to produce a run
– Dusty Stroup connected for his fifth home run of the season during the first at-bat of the third inning
– MWSU threatened again in the bottom of the fifth inning as runners advanced to second and third on a passed ball but could not get across to score
– Defensively, the Griffons turned three double plays on the afternoon
– Central Oklahoma recorded 10 strikeouts in the game
TOP PERFORMERS
– Levi Schreiner was 2-for-3 at the plate with a walk
– Nate Hunter threw seven innings, his fourth straight start of six innings or more, as he gave up just two earned runs
– Stroup’s home run was his only run scored and RBI for the game
