A St. Joseph woman died in a wreck on Interstate 29 in Platte County Sunday afternoon as the driver swerved to avoid another vehicle, lost control of the vehicle, and overturned.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred around 3:30 Sunday afternoon near Missouri E Highway. According to the patrol, the van traveling north on I-29 swerved to avoid a slow-moving vehicle, overcorrected, went into the median, and overturned.
A 39-year-old woman from St. Joseph died in the crash. A 52-year-old St. Joseph man suffered moderate injuries. A 15-year-old boy suffered minor injuries.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol no longer identifies victims in crashes.
