Mustangs stay undefeated to open season with 6-5 win over Monarchs

The St. Joseph Mustangs, or as they were known on Friday night the St. Joseph Tenderloins, remained undefeated to open the season with a 6-5 win over the KC Monarchs on Noah Cameron night at Phil Welch Stadium.

Northwest Missouri State’s Parker Griffith gave the Mustangs the lead in the eighth inning on a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Lafayette alum Brayden Luikart.  Griffith was 1-for-3 with two RBI’s in the win. 

There was no box score available for this game. 

The Mustangs are back in action tomorrow, beginning MINK league play as they take on the Nevada Griffons at Phil Welch Stadium.  First pitch is at 7pm, gates at the stadium open at 5:30.
