Animal cruelty: Kansas woman jailed for death of a dog

ATCHISON COUNTY, Kan. —Law enforcement investigating the abuse of a dog have made an arrest.

In May of 2024 police in the city of Atchison conducted an investigation relating to the abuse of a dog following a report made by the Atchison Humane Society, according to Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson.  The puppy had sustained injuries that resulted in its death.

On Wednesday, police arrested 28-year-old Taylor R. Bonar, 28, Atchison,  on a District Court warrant for cruelty to animals.  She is being held on a bond of $2,500, according to Wilson.
