LEAVENWORTH COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 9:30p.m. Tuesday in Leavenworth County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a was 2006 Toyota passenger car driven by Cody L. Lamping, 16, Basehor, was southbound on 155th Street at U.S. 24. The driver ran a red light and the car entered the intersection. A westbound 2017 Chevrolet pickup driven by Steven H. Schuman, 68, Basehor, struck the the drivers side of the Toyota at highway speed.
EMS transported Lamping to Providence Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. EMS transported Schuman to St. Luke’s. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
