A 70-year-old St. Joseph man has been found guilty of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl.
The Buchanan County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office reports it took a jury seated in Buchanan County a little more than an hour to convict Russell Barbeau of first-degree statutory sodomy.
A probable cause statement submitted by the St. Joseph Police Department stated Barbeau sexually abused the girl on January 21st of this year.
A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for October 21st.
