ATCHISON COUNTY, Kan. —Two people were injured in an accident just after 6p.m. Monday in Atchison.
A 2024 Dodge Ram pickup pulling a trailer and driven by Kevin Brauer, 56, McLouth, was westbound on U.S. 59 at 14th Street. He failed to stop at a red traffic control light according to Police Chief Mike Wilson. The pickup and a southbound 2018 Mazda passenger car driven by Tessa Jimenez, 54, Atchison, collided in the intersection.
Fire Department crews extricated Jimenez from the vehicle and transported her and a 54-year-old male passenger to Amberwell Hospital for examination.
There were no injuries in the Brauer vehicle. Police cited him for failure to stop at a red traffic control signal.
