HOLT COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Holt County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder driven by a 45-year-old Independence man was northbound on Interstate 29 three miles north of Craig.
The SUV traveled off the west side of the road, overturned and the driver was ejected. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Rupp Funeral Home. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
