CLINTON COUNTY—One person died in an accident just before 5:30p.m. Wednesday in Clinton County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2000 Toyota Camry driven by a 55-year-old Lathrop man was southbound on MO 33 two miles north of Lathrop. The car traveled into the northbound lane and collided with a northbound 2014 Volkswagen Passat driven by a 58-year-old Lathrop man. After impact the Volkswagen struck a sign and came to rest partially off the road.
The Toyota driver was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Forensic Medical in Kansas City, Kansas. Tri-County transported the Volkswagen driver to Liberty Hospital. The Toyota driver was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
