Driver fell asleep and semi overturned in Anrdrew County

ANDREW COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 3a.m. Sunday in Andrew County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Freighliner semi driven by a 52-year-old Brooklyn, New York, man was northbound on Interstate 29  Thirteen miles north of St. Joseph. The driver fell asleep. The semi traveled off the west side of the road and the driver over corrected. The vehicle returned to the road, overturned and blocked both northbound lanes. 

Andrew County EMS transported the driver to Mosaic Life Care. He was properly restrained, according to the  MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
