MSHP: Distracted Mo. driver injured after rear-end crash

CALDWELL COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just before 7p.m. Saturday in Caldwell County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a  2015 Chevy Impala driven by a 23-year-old Hamilton woman was eastbound on U.S. 36 just west of Center Road three miles east of Cameron.  The driver was distracted by an electronic device. The car rear-ended a 1995 GMC Yukon driven b a 34-year-old Cameron man who was slowing to make left turn at the median crossover.

Cameron ambulance transported the 23-year-old driver to Cameron Regional Medical Center. The SUV driver was not wearing a seat belt but not injured, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
