Lafayette girls stay put, Benton girls fall in latest basketball polls from MBCA

The Missouri Basketball Coaches Association released another round of it’s bi-weekly top 10 polls for girls basketball, with the boys polls set to be released next week.

For the January 5th edition, in Class 4, the Lafayette Fighting Irish girls basketball team remains toward the top of the latest high school basketball poll, remaining at #2 in the poll with 66 points behind #1 Doniphan.  The Benton girls tumbled from being ranked #4 on December 22nd, falling to #8 with 27 points.  Chillicothe also fell one spot from #6 to #7, with 31 points.  Savannah also received votes but was unranked.

In Class 3, the Mid-Buchanan girls basketball team was ranked #5, with 35 points.  The North Platte girls also received votes but were unranked for this week’s polls.  In Class 1, the Rock Port girls were ranked #2, with 72 points, just barely trailing #1 Chadwick with 77 points.  The Mound City girls also received votes in Class 1.
