The Kansas City Chiefs are continuing to search for their new offensive coordinator with Matt Nagy’s contract coming to an end, and their former offensive coordinator once again in the running for head coaching jobs interviewing with the likes of the Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans.
With the Chicago Bears now elimnated from the playoffs, after falling to the Los Angeles Rams 20-17 in overtime, the Chiefs have requested permission to interview Bears running backs coach Eric Bieniemy for the offensive coordinator role. Bieniemy previously served as the Chiefs’ offensive coordinator from 2018-2022.
After leaving the Chiefs in 2022, Bieniemy was interviewed for some head coaching jobs, but ultimately made a lateral move to the Washington Commanders as offensive coordinator but was dismissed at the end of the season after a tumultuous tenure with players reportedly clashing with his demanding style and a head coaching change from Ron Rivera to current head coach Dan Quinn . He then spent a year at UCLA before joining the Bears’ staff in 2025.
