Citizens, business leaders, educators, and government officials from Northwest Missouri are set to gather in Jefferson City February 3rd & 4th for Great Northwest Day, an annual event aiming to showcase the region’s strengths and advocating for its legislative priorities.
The event is designed to educate state lawmakers about the critical issues facing the Northwest region and promote the region as a vital contributor to the Show-Me State’s economic and community success.
Participants will be recognized on the House and Senate floors before taking part in panel discussions focused on key regional priorities. A reception will allow attendees to connect with legislators, and state department leaders. It will also feature the presentation of the Northwest Missouri Citizen of the Year award.
The Great Northwest Priorities Committee has identified six focus areas for the upcoming legislative session: expanding access to rural health care, increasing child care availability, investing in higher education, supporting K–12 education, expanding workforce housing, and ensuring sustainable tax reform.
Registration is $80 through this Tuesday, January 27. Organizers are anticipating participation to exceed 250 attendees.
