The Missouri Basketball Coaches Association this week released it’s bi-weekly boys basketball polls with several teams from around the region making the rankings or receiving votes.
In Class 4, the Benton boys basketball team stayed near the top of the rankings, still at #2, with 69 points behind defending state champion Vashon with 79 points at #1. The Cardinals are 15-1 on the season and have matchups this week against St. Pius X tomorrow and Carl Junction on Saturday.

In Class 3, the Mid-Buchanan Dragons boy’s basketball team also ranked near the top of the MBCA poll, coming in at #2, with 68 points, well behind the #1 team Principia with 80 points. The Dragons are 13-2 on the season, coming off a narrow 55-51 over North Platte on Friday, and will participate in the North Platte Invitational this week.
Some other teams around the region made the rankings as well. In Class 1, Princeton came in at #5 with 47 points. The Rock Port boys did not make the rankings this week but also received votes. In Class 2, the Gallatin boys basketball team ranked #7 with 22 points.
The MBCA alternates between releasing girls and boys polls, so the next boys rankings will come out on February 9th. The girls rankings should be released next week on February 2nd.
