A Buchanan County Sheriff’s vehicle was struck late Sunday night in St. Joseph.
A press release from the Buchanan County Sheriff’s office says investigator Abel Garcia was traveling westbound on Faraon at 9th Street in an unmarked sheriff’s vehicle at 11:14 p.m.
Garcia reportedly stopped a the stop sign and proceeded through the intersection. An 18-year old man was driving a motorcycle southbound on 9th Street. The motorcycle entered the intersection and struck the back passenger door of the vehicle.
The 18-year old was taken to Mosaic by ambulance where he was treated and released. Garcia was not injured.
According to the press release, the teen was not wearing a helmet and the motorcycle did not have lights on.
The 18-year old received several citations.
