Residents in Gower, Agency, and Stewartsville experienced a nearly four-hour power outage following a scheduled maintenance operation. The outage, which was supposed to last from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m., was necessary for safety reasons to work on energized lines. East Buchanan High School adjusted bus schedules and warned of a potential early dismissal if power was not restored by 9 a.m. Power was eventually restored by 7:30 a.m., and the cause of the issue is currently being investigated by Evergy.
