Gamers welcome in Iowa with State incentive

A bill introduced in the Iowa House aims to make Iowa an attractive location for video game developers by offering state grant and loan programs as well as tax credits to companies that set up game development studios in the state. Backers of the bill, including Douglas Cloven from PlayStation, believe that Iowa could become a hub for gaming developers with the right incentives in place. The bill also includes provisions for two-year fellowships for gaming industry veterans who move to Iowa to teach or work on projects that boost the gaming industry. A recent survey found that 64% of Americans play video games for more than an hour per week, highlighting the potential market for gaming developers in Iowa.
