North Central Missouri College had a strong presence at Nurse Advocacy Day in Jefferson City, with current nursing student Trina Ledford and MONSA Vice President attending the event. The day provided insight into how state-level policy impacts nurses, patients, and healthcare in Missouri. NCMC alum and MONSA President Asa Palmeri addressed nearly 400 attendees about advocacy and elevating the voices of future nurses. Participants explored advocacy, reviewed key priorities, and learned communication strategies with state representatives. Ledford, Palmeri, and the MONSA Board will next attend the National Student Nurses’ Association Convention in Houston.
