A junior high student in the Rock Port R-II School District was taken into custody after allegedly posting threatening videos on social media, school officials announced.
In a letter sent to district families, administration confirmed they were alerted to the videos and took immediate action. The school district is currently collaborating with local and state law enforcement as the investigation continues.
“We assure that these threats are taken seriously and are being dealt with appropriately,” the administration stated.
Officials emphasized that the safety and security of students, staff, and the surrounding community remain the district’s “highest priority” during the legal process.
