The Maryville City Council approved measures to increase water rates to fund a new water treatment plant and future system maintenance. The council passed two ordinances to comply with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ loan program, which will cover most of the project’s cost. The new facility is estimated to cost $52.1 million, with $50 million funded by the State Revolving Fund loan program. The rate increase will help cover the remaining costs and ensure the city’s water system’s sustainability.
