Kansans urged to wear blue April 10 for Child Abuse Prevention Month

Kansans are encouraged to wear blue on Friday, April 10, to raise awareness of child abuse as part of Child Abuse Prevention Month. The State Child Death Review Board emphasizes the importance of recognizing and preventing various forms of abuse, including physical, emotional, sexual, and neglect. Sara Hortenstine, Youth Services Division Chief, highlights the collective effort needed to support families, identify signs of abuse, and report concerns to protect children. Residents can seek additional information on child abuse and neglect through the Kansas Department for Children and Families or report suspected cases to the Protection Report Center at (800) 922-5330.
