Elementary students at Northeast Nodaway completed the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge, raising over $4,500 for cardiovascular research. Gordon Wiederholt, the school’s Heart Hero, helped students reach their fundraising goal. Students earned the opportunity to throw water balloons at teachers and high school students based on the amount they raised. An outdoor balloon toss assembly will be held later in the school year, and 17 students were recognized for completing the Kids Heart Challenge mission to learn hands-only CPR.
