CASS COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before noon Thursday in Cass County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Kenworth semi driven by a 54-year-old Deepwater man was northbound on Interstate 49 just south of MO 2. The semi rear-ended a 2001 Toyota 4Runner driven by a 56-year-old Harrisonville woman who was stopped in traffic. The impact the Toyota rear-ended a 2025 Kenworth semi driven by a 51-year-old Independence man who was also stopped in traffic.
The Harrisonville woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The other drivers were not injured. The MSHP no longer releases names of accident victims.
