MERCER COUNTY—A child was injured in an accident just before 6:30p.m. Friday in Mercer County.
THe Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2002 Polaris Sportsman 500 driven by a child identified as less than a year-old boy of Princeton was eastbound on Desoto Avenue three miles SW of Mercer. The vehicle skidded, crossed the center of the road and overturned.
Mercy helicopter transported the child to Mercy One in Des Moines, Iowa for treatment of serious injuries. The child was not wearing a helmet, according to the patrol. The MSHP no longer releases names of accident victims.
