A local organization, Persisterhood – St. Joseph, will host an “Ice Out NOW” peaceful vigil/rally in protest of the recent fatal shooting of U.S. citizen Alex Pretti by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Minneapolis.
The event will take place Saturday, Jan. 31, from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. in St. Joseph at the intersection of Belt Hwy and Frederick Ave. Attendees are encouraged to bring signs and flags.
This will be the ninth peaceful protest organized by Persisterhood-St. Joseph since March 2025 and the second focused on the actions of ICE officers.
The rally will include speakers and a moment of silence to honor those killed by ICE agents or in DHS detention facilities in the past year.
