Who leads Missouri in producing physicians for shortage areas

Kansas City University (KCU) recently held its commencement ceremony, with over 300 students receiving doctoral hoods and diplomas. The graduates will be entering medical specialties, with many going into primary care residencies to address the shortage of primary care physicians. Some graduates plan to provide street medicine to the unhoused community, while others aim to serve underserved rural areas. KCU is Missouri’s top producer of physicians and a leading producer of doctors in critical health shortage areas. Additionally, the university is the second-leading producer of physicians for Kansas.
