The Grundy County Veterans Association has purchased the former Republican Times Building in Trenton to consolidate local veterans organizations into a shared facility. The purchase was completed on May 6, with the building set to replace the current facilities of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 919 and American Legion Post 31 in Trenton. Funding for the acquisition was made possible through donations, fundraising efforts, grants, and other financial support activities. Renovation work is underway, with the facility expected to be available for use by various community organizations in addition to veterans groups. Contributions to assist with renovation costs and upkeep are being accepted by the association.
