Annual Pony Express Re-Ride to celebrate 250th anniversary of US

Communities nationwide will celebrate the U.S.’s 250th anniversary in June with the Pony Express Re-Ride, departing from St. Joseph on June 15th and arriving in Sacramento on June 25th. Riders will carry a commemorative mail pouch in a continuous relay, retracing the historic trail across multiple states. The Pony Express, operational for only 18 months in 1860-1861, symbolizes American ingenuity and unity, connecting the eastern and western U.S. with unprecedented speed. Organized by volunteers and historical associations, the Re-Ride invites the public to witness mochila exchanges, meet riders, and engage with local Pony Express enthusiasts at major stops along the route.
