Sports gambling in Iowa slowed in April, with net receipts dropping to $21.86 million from $24.57 million in March. The total amount wagered also decreased significantly, from $268.23 million to $210.46 million. Most sports betting activity continued to occur online, with internet sports wagering accounting for $201.17 million of the total handle. In contrast, casino admissions decreased in April, but the average win per visitor increased, resulting in higher revenue per visit. Overall casino adjusted gross revenue dipped in April, with slot revenue falling from $137.55 million to $132.47 million. Despite the decline in sports gambling, traditional casino gaming remains a significant revenue driver in Iowa.
