The $3 billion Kansas City Chiefs stadium in Wyandotte County has led to changes in plans for the nearby Mattel theme park being built by Epic Resort Destinations. The $539 million Destination KCK project will be adjusted to better align with the new stadium. The developer plans to revise site plans, removing some elements and adding new features. The project is scheduled for completion in 2030, with construction starting in 2027. The theme park will feature Mattel-themed attractions and will be part of the neighborhood of STAR bond projects in western Wyandotte County.
